Aux Input In A 4TH Gen Delco Radio, Anybody want to know how?
I have to do another one for a customer. If there is anyone interested, I will be happy to post the how to do here.
This is the radio, does not matter if it is cassette or CD.

I used 2 guinea pig radios for this discussion. They look the same on the outside but are quite different on the inside. I am not going to go through the nuts andd bolts of taking the radio apart, cleaning the coating off to expose the connection or cleaning the connection points.
Go to radio Shack and get a 274-0246 1/8" Stereo Phone Jack and some cat 5 cable (a foot will do ) Solder your cat 5 to the jack in pic 1
Locate the connections in pic 2
Solder the cat 5 in pic 3

The above directions are for this style radio. You will have to clean off the heat sink goop off of the multiplexer. (That is what choses AM/FM or Cassette or CD Depending on the radio you have)

This is the second type radio. All cleaning and soldering will be done on the bottom of the circuit board. In both radios, you will have to use a good ground connection for the aux.

Is there an easier way to do this? I'm having a really difficult time getting the wires into those really tiny spots on the circuit board... :-(
