Another sub box in wheel well
Just thought I share my sub box
Sorry I dont have the measurements, but it worked out to be to be two 10" Alpine's 500RMS at 2Ohms each in the box. Sounds fantastic, and thumps hard.
Note I cut the rear interior panels to get a premium fit

And with the fold down hatch closed.. Cant even tell the sub box is there

A closer look showing where I cut the interior panels to fit the amps on each side.

Bottom of the box, I pointed the subs down, as directionally is not really a issue with closed box subs, so Im told. There is two inch feet on the box to keep the woofers from contacting the bottom, and there is a two inch air gap on each side

hope it gives ya some good ideas for future builds

Clean and nice sounding.. I will admit that I havnt fully tuned the system yet, but they amps do pound .. Still working on the sub acoustics with the hatch closed.. Open, and parked it sounds great, but with the hatch closed, the acoustics change a bit, and I need to work on itThis is what I managed to stuff in the Camaro..

Nice setup. I'm hopefully gonna get my box built in the next couple days. Do you have any pics of the kick panels installed I need more sound coming from the front of my car, right now its all in the back.

Re: Another sub box in wheel well
these are the Speakers installed, wish I took more pictures of building them. Basically I just custom cut a piece of MDF to fit over the shape of the kick panel, and then laid out where I thought the speaker should fit. Then after I got the shape of the kick panel to where I liked it, I just found some old fabric and stapled it to the panel.

Are you gonna be "bumping" with the cover down? I would not advise that because the amps need space to ventilate.

Re: Another sub box in wheel well
I will say I really like this idea and am borrowing part of it for my own box. Difference being Im going to use a 12" sub and it will be much flashier. Box will the the same shape, but the bottom is solid. Sub will mount in the top, upside down with the voice coil facing outwards. Amps will be mounted in the same locations as yours. I also plan on having 2 small plexiglass windows on either side of the sub with some blue LEDs inside. The windows will have the Z28 logo frosted into them.
My original plan was having the sub mounted the same as yours and a large plexi window on top to see inside, but a 12" sub wont fit at the bottom of the well with enough room for box material. And before anyone else comments, yes I'd rather redesign the box to fit a 12 than just go with a ten. I have a certain sub picked out and it's only available in 12 or 15 inch sizes.
Either way, thanks for the inspiration to something different rather than the typical sub box for these cars.

I think the hardest part was the amp trays. Once I built the Sub box, and mounted it, I put a piece of mdf on the side and shimmed up the bottom side until it was in the same plane as the top of the sub box. That gave me dimensions for the sides and top. Looking forward to seeing yours done. Banned

Re: Another sub box in wheel well
That will be another difference between the 2. I am going to try to have the top be all one peice right across the entire hatch.
Actually, that just gave me another brainstorm that will help with material costs... instead of the plexi windows being part of the boxtop and needing to be 3/4" thick, I can make the box top, then make a large plate with the appropriate cutouts for the amps and sub to fit through. Cut the windows into that and have much thinner plexi make the light up windows in the plate rather than the box.
