Where to ground amp?

Where would be the best place to ground my amplifier for my subwoofers?

For me, since I was running a 4awg power wire from the battery to the back, I ran a separate 6awg from the battery as well, for a ground wire..

you have everything apart already to run your power wire. Yes it is a little more expensive, but you really don't want to skimp on power, or grounds..

Im not sure about the best location for a chassis ground, but something that would hold well, and is cleaned to bare metal should work

Re: Where to ground amp?

I ran a 6 gauge wire from each of my amps to where the rear seat bases bolt in. Just
clean the paint off first.

You can ground anywhere to the frame as long as it is a solid contact point to bare metal. Be sure that your ground lead is the same gauge as your power wire or larger. I prefer to keep my grounds shorter than 24".

Re: Where to ground amp?

On my truck I just cleaned up a spot on the floor and used a self tapper to ground my amp. The amp works fine and the ground is hidden well

I ran it to where the spare tire used to be bolted to, since i don't run with a spare anymore.
