Stereo system help
Not sure if the guy before me ever upgraded the speakers or if they’re still the stock speakers from 1988. Either way I want/need to upgrade! I was looking at the JBL GTO938 6x9 speakers to replace my old ones. I am also looking to install or have installed kick panel speaker, I don’t have the holes cut out yet though. For that I’m looking at the JVC CS-V628 DRVN Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers. The thing with the kick panel speakers is since I don’t have a dash speaker what should I hook up the wires too.
Basically my question is what do you guys think of those speakers and/or what would you recommend? My music taste ranges from rap/hip hop to rock & metal to dubstep. Also I have a small tube style subwoofer I was thinking about installing, so with all this do you guys think I should get an amp of some sort?

Re: Stereo system help
I'm a big fan of JBL but I would just check the depth of the 6x9's as the magnet is fairly big.
I put JVC 6x9's in my old TA and noticed rattling between the metal insert in the rear and metal basket in the speaker. I'd recommend adding a small amount of Dynamat or similar product and attach to the back of the speaker.
As for speakers, you really have to listen to them to see what you like. One speaker does NOT fit all ears.
Yes an amp would help (again look at the JBL's). No need to go expensive either.

Re: Stereo system help
what do you have for a Hu?
i would get a 50 to 60 watt rms 4ch amp and separate amp for the sub for those speakers.
