my car eats stereos

im currently looking for my 4th one in a year and 1/2. they will last like 4 months then they die. the sound will go completely dead. it will be on, but the sound will be gone. if i turn it on and off a few times it will come back and be on for a while, but then it does it again. and after a while it gets harder to get it to come back on. i thought it was getting hot or something but i dont know. whats up with this? i wanna buy a good one this time but not if i cant figure this out. oh yeah, i had a crappy kawasaki one that i got with the car, a stock one from my old 89 RS, and a jvc cd player. thanks guys

Get one from Sears. Pay 10% of the price, and you will get a 2 year warrenty on it. Anything happens, take it back to them and they will replace it, no questions asked. Thats where i get my Equipment.

Assuming that your electrical system is operating properly, I would have to chalk these problems up to either junk equipment or faulty installation. Buy a brand name deck and have it professionally installed. Any good car audio specialty store will have the full factory warranty and will have competent installers.
