If you are going to use a battery, then use a deep cycle. Their made for contunious draw. I don't know how to rig it up so it charges if your car battery though

Well i dont know about lawn mower batts, but you'll need a 12volt source that will be able to supply the amp power for an extended period of time. I doubt a mower batt will do the job well.

A mower battery doesn't have the reserve capacity that you need for a high powered amp. Depending on your system, a small battery like that probably wouldn't have enough amperage for a high powered audio system. When you stop by the shop I'll look at your system and show you what you can do.

If you are looking for a smaller battery as a secondary, Optima has one that is half the size (width) of their standard setups, or I've seen people use motorcycle batteries in the past.

Just remember, the only real reason for a second battery is for key off play time. If you need more power, look into upgrading the alternator. If you need quicker power (i.e. headlights dimming) look into a cap.
