I broke my sub

I have a set of 10" Pioneer subs in a sealed cusom box. Anyway, I was dumb and let some heavy stuff slide onto the sub and it cracked through the plastic part on one sub. The funny thing is, I CAN'T TELL! Well, not totally true, but they are not any quiter and that one sub just buzzes sometimes. The subs are not seperated in the box. Anyway, am I gonna hurt my amp, other sub or anything by continuing to run them like this?
Thanks,
Douglas

Define "plastic part"

If you are refering to the dead center of the speaker, that is just the dust cover and it will do you no harm if it's punctured. The only thing you might notice is a buzzing from the loose cap.

That is the only thing I can think of that would be plastic on a speaker.

Well, ummm, the IMPP stuff. Pioneer subs don't have dust caps. Its actually cracked the IMPP on the side, so I can see through the sub basically.
Thanks,
Douglas

You cracked the cone. If it doesn't look too horrible on the outside, mix up some good strong epoxy and glue right over the crack from the back. That should hold it sufficiently after it dries. If the crack looks bad from the front anyway, put the epoxy on both sides. Even if you just do it from the back, try to get it into the crack, and just wipe the excess off the front before it dries.

The result won't be pretty, but it will work.

Sweet!!!
Thanks Jim, I'll give that a try today! The crack looks bad, so I'll be doing anything to put it back together, doesn't really matter if I have expoxy all over it
Thanks a ton!

Just don't get crazy with the epoxy. Too much can make it weak, plus it will add un-necessary weight.

Okay, Jim, I did it. Use some Plastix stuff and it seems to be okay. But I did more damage then I knew, and I am missing a little piece. Should I Plastix on a piece of plastic in that hole or what? I already put one little piece back in but we lost the other piece. It sound 1000% better, thanks a ton! I can feel the air rushing out of that little hole, so should I just use something that matched the IMPP stuff kinda close to cover the hole?
Thanks,
Douglas

Yeah, plug the hole. After you do that, start saving for a new sub and some SPEAKER GRILLS.

Hehehe, I have plenty of money for a new sub and speaker grills, but I don't want either right now. This setup is getting totally tossed in less then a year, and like hell if I want to spend another 100 bucks on it.
Later,
RS
