Time for new speakers

Pretty much everything in my car is at least a decade old. The dash and sail speakers were in there when I got it back in 02. I think they're Pioneer. I have a Kenwood HU that I want to keep and 2 Kenwood 10s with a 600 watt amp in a Probox enclosure. I am a rock/metal fan so what kind of speakers would you guys recommend for the sails and dash? I'm not looking to drop a ton, just upgrade, also I wont be running an amp, just off the HU for those speakers. I am considering adding 6.5"s to the kick panels too, but I think I'll replace whats there first and see how it sounds.

You don't have to get crazy.
Figure your budget and buy appropriately.
For mid level speakers, I have been happy with Pioneer and Kenwoods.

Look at the Hybrid Audio Imagine Series 6x9's. Hearing LOTS of good things about them.

Couldn't find any pricing on those hybrid speakers, but something tells me they aren't exactly within budget.

Here you go. Quick google search.

http://store.12velectronics.com/prod...eaker-Set.html

$ 399.00 a set.

Dealer near you should sell for less.

Also, I know Hybrid Audio sell of "demo" sets sometimes. Best to contact the owner and ask.

Re: Time for new speakers

powered by just the head unit i 2nd the pioneer kenwood no need to spend more than that to sound good if you think mabee amping them to go with the power of those subs then start looking at infinity or jbl both make a nice 6x9 & 4x6 in there high end line without spending a ton

Re: Time for new speakers

if the box is a ported one, i would make sealed ones to start and you can put your speakers in that, it worth the effort. in the non competition world only rap sounds good with those. i listen to mostly rock and country and had one of those before and low frequencies are amplified and higher ones like most rock has are not and could be diminished.

for the sails i would get polk db6x9's or polk 6.5 components but they like to be amped and to me its worth the hundred bucks or less to get a stereo amp for those, or any component set, none of them really sound that good off the hu IMO, not very full sounding. even if you only get a 50w rms amp thats 3-4 times what the hu puts out
