Diffrence in GM Stereos

Is the GM Delco Casette (ehite lettering) deck out of a 1989 Buick any diffrent than a GM Delco Casette deck out a a 1992 Z-28 (yellow lettering) ???

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Should be the same. The only difference may be the plugs in the back, but i doubt it. In 88, GM started changing over plug styles.

Some of the GM radios come with a five-band graphic equalizer (instead of the standard bass and treble), and electronic tape controls in place of the mechanical ones.

Also, the mounting brackets from the Buick radio are going to be different, but you can easily switch the brackets around.

Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
They are pretty much the same. Both should work reliably for at least 5 to 10 days before the solder joints crack.

Jim, find me an aftermarket deck that has REAL *****, backlighting controlled by the dash dimmer, fits properly, doesn't take forever to seek from one station to another...then maybe I'll buy it.
