Sound deadening / What do you use?

So I started gutting my interior and I've used dynamat and other stuff before and it works fantastic. Wanted to see what you have used before and what you thought.

I just bought a can of Dupli-color Undercoat/ Performance Sound Deadening. I sprayed the inside of trunk and wheel wells. I used a whole 16% can on that going pretty heavy and still looks weak. Didn't seem to make a huge difference on the way metal responds to contact but hopping it helps block just air noise. Gonna throw a layer of dynamat over it anyway but it was a good test.

What have you used.

Raammat BXT II with ensolite is very nice. Also Dynamat xtreme works well.

I think the Raammat was better though.

I did about 50-60% of my car w/hush mat from local stereo store, than peel & seal from Home depot for a lot less, to finish up everything, but still need to do driver's door, The peel & seal was way cheaper, works just as well, & contrary other folks experience, no issues w/smell. Made a heck of a difference in sound proofing from outside noise & music sounds warmer. still need to finish up w/window/door weatherstripping....I also spent alot of time w/rear hatch louvers to tighten to reduce rattles

Knu deadener is a very good choice for the money as well.

Can't go wrong with any of them.

I use Dynamat. I forget which version, but it is the one with the blue backing. The regular Dynamat is horrible to remove if you ever need to. That stuff slices your hands up so bad it looks like you were trying to pet a ferrel cat.

Re: Sound deadening / What do you use?

Just used FatMat for my truck. Very impressed. I would use it again. Really wanted to use NVX's deadener but the amount I wanted was back ordered. Their loss. I was impressed with FatMat. Easy to install, easy to work into tight places, and my system has significantly more mid bass. Love it
