Need help with radio

I need some help. I have an 84 Belrinetta with a console type radio in it(instead of being in the dash, it is on a turning pedastal). It wouldn't be to bad, but the tape deck is busted, so I can't get a CD changer in it. Does anyone have any ideas what to do? Thanks

You have a couple options. Since that radio is fairly rare, you may want to keep it, and it will also be hard to get a replacement. You can have the dealer send it out for repair. Most dealers use a repair facility in Syracuse NY that charges a flat fee to repair the radios. It'll probably cost you $75 to $100, depending on the dealer markup. Your next choice is to live with the busted tape deck and buy an FM modulated cd changer. That will work very well with that radio and will obviously allow you to play cds. If it were my radio, I'd have it fixed then buy the changer.

I have a 1985 Berlinetta with the same radio. My tape deck is also busted. I just put in a 300 watt amp and instead of fixing the tape deck am buying a fm modulated cd changer. These work off the fm frequency. CD's sound better than tapes too.

Hey Jim, do you have any info on that place in Syracuse? I wonder if I could go straight to them if I need something repaired.

Thanks, I pulled a stupid when I wrote the Post, I forgot the cd changers are fm modulated and not connected to the tape deck.

Chris, I don't remember the name of the place. I haven't dealt with them since 97.
