To make a long story short, my 1992 Z28 has been without a radio since I purchased it. I've been looking for an OEM Delco unit for the car and I haven't had any luck with the price I had in mind. It has the Bose sound system in it. I found a guy on CL selling a Delco Model Number : 16127215 for a 1990 GM. Does this radio have the right plugins for the car, or do I need the factory radio? Thank you.
Ask the seller if he can provide a pic of the rear of the radio. Then you can see the plug and if your harness will fit. There are harness adapters to make it work if they are not similar. I had the same problem when I bought my car. There are more than a few salvage yards in my area and I was able to find a couple of radios. Sure, I didn't know if they were functioning at the time but knew they could be repaired. My factory harness had been butchered as well so I had to restore that. Hopefully your harness is still intact. I can't remember what year the harness changed, but I had a '96 GMC pickup with the same size radio which would fit the Thirdgen(with some work). It was one of those "TheftLoc" radios. I declined to put it in because the mounting system is different. Also the plug was completely different on that radio. The unit in your photo should fit. As far as the Bose system; I'm not sure about that.
There you go, my car is missing the factory speakers as well if that matters, but all of the wiring harnessing is still there minus the main radio plug, the last guy who owned it destroyed it and the wires are all cut, he tried to put an aftermarket radio in without any research and failed.

I bought the radio, 15 bucks, not a bad deal. Antenna doesn't fit, still needs the harness from the radio. I need to buy the speaker adapters so I can put different speakers in correct?
You can pick up up a harness pigtail at most any auto parts store, or even Walmart for that matter. If the speakers are gone, then like *84TA said, you can use any Delco radio that fits, and the one you have does just that. The price was fair and if you do have issues with it, there are people on the board that can do the repairs (*84TA). Speakers that will fit the factory locations and mounting may be a bit more challenging. I haven't had this problem but I have read that Infinity model 4952 (4x6) and model 6952 (6x9) do fit our cars. I have no idea if these are still available. If the antenna cable doesn't fit, there are adapters for that also. There is not a lot of room behind the radio, if you haven't already found out. So when putting your harness pigtail in, measure twice and cut once.
The radio is mounted, will be picking up the speakers and adapter when I start working full time again next week, thank you for all your help and I will be posting on this thread again soon.
Here is a picture of the finished look. I modified a bracket that I bought for a single dimm kenwood that I planned to put in before I decided to go for the stock look, some sandpaper and razor blades later, here's what I came out with.
I saw someone elses post on here with the same radio, he said he was pretty happy with it, it must have FM or he is just a huge fan of NPR and Sean Hannity.

I havent pulled my stereo out of my 1991 z28 to compare model numbers but that looks nearly identitcal to mine.
