Wiring up subs and amp

Hey guys, I'm new to the whole music thing so help me out.
I plan on buying 2 12" Kicker XPL 4 ohm subwoofers, I listened to lots of subs and like these the most. They do not specifiy how much rms they need, but do have a max of 500 watts, so how much should i run to them?
I need a recomendation of what kind of amp to get, sticking to RF or Kicker.
How would i wire all of this up, parallel, series, ???

I just checked my Crutchfield catalog, and it shows a 12" XLP at 500 watts RMS and 1000 peak. I'd wire them in in parallel so you'd need an amp good for 2 ohms bridged.

I looked in crutchfield too, then i checked the Kicker website where they have it as 500 watts max.

Would 2 12" Kicker XPL's wired in parallel into 2ohms, running on a Kicker DX700 which puts out 700wattsX1 work well?
