hi all my dad bought a 1991 rs camaro with 34xxx miles off of his brother back in the 90s my uncle put 4500 dollars in the stereo system he parked the car in 96 and it hasnt moved until my dad got it we hooked the 3 amps power wires up but the equalizer will not come on when i turn the parking lights on it lights up but is just will not come on. Can anyone help me fix this thanks.

 

First thing to check - fuses
Second thing to check - pull out the stereo and verify it is getting power, both constant and key on.

 

Fuses are good and it gets power

 

Back track all the wires and make sure nothing is pinched or mice chewed anything grounding anything out.

 

i pulled the eq and head unit out put hot to the constant. remote.illumination, and ignition and gave good ground still nothing on eq i dont understand the eq is litterally brand new it was installed in 97 and never used all other electronics work but eq
