Probably not THE best, but I've heard good things about the Denon DCT-A1N, think I read it retails for about $2300? Only available in Japan though. I'm sure there's plenty more out there.

Alpine 7990 is up there. With the PXA-900 processor you are looking at $4k I think.

I want the JVC MP3 player, nothing beats having upto 200 songs on a CD, and the deck is pretty impressive, 3 sets out RCA outputs, Line Input, Aux Input, Tilt Face, and has a Volume ****.
Costs about $300 and seems to be worth every penny.

7990 is def. a cool piece. I like things simpler though, I'd love a Nak. CD-700. Simple, elegant, classic.

But I also need IR remote control, so the CD-700 is a no go (that, and the $1700 price tag). I'll keep my Alpine 7949.

thanks for the response ive been checking into those and most of them are pretty tight. but i was wondering if any of you guys have a cd player with like voice recognition and say it talks back to you if you need directions. baiscally one that you can control just by talking. and if you have one do you like it or is is a pain in the ***.

I have no direct experience with the product, but i know Eclipse makes a line up with voice recognition, and you can even hook it up to control things like the power windows and such.

are you considering buying the most expensive? If you have the money for it, pic up one for me too..

I thought it was the Autopc as the highest. They should make something that will break the hands of anyone trying to steal it for the price that they are.

Hey kandied thats real mature. anyways im trying to get a high quaility one that has VR and ive noticed that all of the higher end ones at the raido shops that ive been to dont have the vr option. So obviously if there is a good quality one for say 300 that has the voice recognition then i would definently consider it. but i doubt that there is one.

Dude I doubt you'll find one that cheap. Maybe triple that price to about $900 and that's if you get lucky!
