how can I f it an '85+ sub box in an '84 trunk?
I got this bitc#n' band-pass sub box for my '84 Trans Am. the sales guy told me it was for '85-'92 camaros/firebirds. it fits in my car,but it wont drop all the way down. it sticks up an inch or two,a little higher in the back. isn't it supposed to sit flush with the deck? whats different about the trunk in my car? it looks just like every other thirdgen trunk I've ever seen. I can still use it, but it will look choppy, stickn' up like that. is there some kind of trick to getting it in there, like jumping on it or somthing ?

I would think all '82-92 trunks would be the same...some have a cargo light but that's about it.
Instead, treat this as a golden opportunity to do something cool. Mount your amps to the flat area just behind the back seat. Get some strips of wood that match the amount that your box sticks up...make a "fence" around the area where your amps are. Get some stiff cardboard, and cut it to fit on top of the "fence." Cut holes in the middle that are the same size as your amps. Get some carpeting that matches the box, and glue it onto the cardboard. When you put the cardboard back in place, it will look like one big board across your whole trunk, with your amps flush mounted.
Of course, my instructions here are kind of a general idea of how to do it...you would want to do a careful job to make it look really nice.

I wasn't aware of any different dimensions, either. It might be normal! Are your plastic panels "fitting" the way they should? That back panel, at the bottom, slides into two grooves on the body. Maybe the bottom's pushed out an inch or so?
