I know...the price is great on this thing, I mean it's less than half the Kenwood, with nearly all the features. I admit that it's a tempting product.

I install at Best Buy, and I have to say that Koss and Aiwa are about the worst car radios I've EVER seen. First of all, the Aiwa mounting design sucks, so after a while the radio will fall back inside the dash. But that's a minor problem and you could modify the design yourself so it would work.

It seems that nearly every Aiwa radio, sooner or later, will refuse to eject CDs. There's a "reset" button you can press that will work about half the time. The other half you have to take the radio apart to get the CD out. I swear, I must see 2-3 Aiwas a week come back with stuck CDs.

I've installed a few of the MP3 units and they haven't come back yet, but time will tell.

Also, there are other things about Aiwa that suck. The tuner is a universal design that stops on every frequency...like 104.0, 104.1, 104.2, and so on. The tiny volume control is hard to operate. The colorful display looks like something designed for five-year olds.

I'm one of those guys who thinks that most car radios sound exactly alike...but still, even with that preconception, the Aiwas seem to sound distinctly worse than the other stuff we install. Maybe they have less power, or less bass or something...whatever it is, they definitely don't sound as good.
