parallel????? in series??????

whats the difference????? right now my subs are wired like this...one wire comes off the bridged amp...then into one speaker terminal on the box. then a second wire connects both speaker terminals, so both subs get powered by one line. whats this??? parallel?

hmm i have extra time on my hands....so i made this...im assuming the top is parallel and the bottom is series??

If each speaker has its own wire connection to each of its terminals, and the wire connections (+/-) run to the SAME LEAD (+/-) on the amp.....then they are parallel.

When you do this, you decrease resistance by 1/2 and double output power. HOWEVER you change the IMPEDANCE. As long as the amp and speakers can handle the new impedance, then there is no prob.....if they can't you are gonna blow or overheat something....either amp or speaker

correct me if im wrong...
if both subs are 4ohms, that diagram makes the top picture have a load of 2 ohms on the amp, 8 ohms on the bottom.
