I may be running some camaro ones off as well as the cup holders designed for the camaro ashtray soon I just need some time and I may eventually be willing to sell some for people just trying to figure out the cost of product.
I didn't find a cupholder design in Thingverse. Is it available?
Hello all, I am new to this site and just purchased an 89 Iroc-z. Glad to be back into one after 20 years. technology has come along way and i would like to install a double din in this car. Just wondering if this bezel was perfected and how i get ahold of one. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi, just took delivery on an 87 Iroc. Would like to buy the reversed double din faceplate and the cup holders in the cigarette location. PM me 7thdark or whomever is actually making and selling these.
Just wondering before I order a bezel. What is the size difference between the standard bezel and the extra wide one. I wonder because the radio I would like to use is just shy of 1/2 inch wider than the standard bezel size. Would this fit in the extra wide or no? Any help is great.

what is the opening requirement for your radio and what plate are you looking to get. I can verify opening size later tonigh .
I did mine last year. Note the radio isn't a double din, it's an Android radio with a detachable screen that is slightly larger than double din. I've since used filler primer and paint on it to give it a piano black finish. I used an expensive print service though.
These still being made? Before I cut my original one up!! How did you guys install the radio to the stock four screws on the center console? Noticed some have brackets in your pictures those custom or also 3D printed?
Went ahead and ordered one through Treatstock. Let’s see how it goes. Ordered two just in case if they both come out good I’ll gladly sell the second one to someone here for the cheaps
Is there someone making the brackets for the side of the radio or the regular double din kit will work? I have one on the way figure just use the brackets from the kit and not the whole trim and etc.
hit up this guy 323-620-5989 his name is Greg hes in northridge. tell him i sent you. reasonable price. hes the one that made mine.
Mike! Hey stranger, what up! That looks great. what is that, a “plastic spray bedliner” stuff you put on last? Looks good. Your fab skills always amaze me.
Yeah, I figured it would be legit money for a decent modded “double din”. Brad got a new double Din Pioneer DVD for his GTO and gave me his old one (also a Pioneer DVD, etc). Would love to get this thing hooked up in the TA.
How the heck did you guys make them fit so flush. I broke my radio kit adjusting it as it was a bit sideways. Waiting on replacement. That ac control bracket is no help I tried bending it up and sliding it up and broke the dam right screw tab on ac controller. But it’s progress i guess.
Here's what i have so far. I have everything flipped around. The hvac controls will have the same angle as the factory location. Spacers will be included in the print files to achieve this. So far it looks like slight modification to the hvac bracket (holes that mount the bracket to the center council will need to be elongated). I should be starting to print and test fit everything this weekend (hopefully).
Cheers
I know this is an old post but seriously looking for a reverse double din for 82-92 camaro
How do u DM on this forum? I'm trying to print the bezel with the hvac controls on the bottom... however on thingsverse there 3 templates. One is for oversized double din which I don't need. But what is the difference in the other two? Hopefully someone knows the answer or how to contact 7thdarkangel. Thanks

One way to DM is to click on the user's name or profile pic from one of their posts and then click send message. If you're talking about the 3 files 7thdarkangel has made, I believe one is a factory style faceplate with 1.5 Din radio cutout, another is for a single Din radio cutout, and the other is for a double Din radio size with the reversed orientation of radio and HVAC. All for Camaros.

Use the newest revision Here. Reverse_Std_2Din_Plate_REV_2.STL
you will also need one of each of the spacers.
What would the advantage of this be over the 3D printed version?
Also, any idea on cost.
I am interested, just not sure of style yet. Car is far from being assembled.
A molded part is one solid piece of plastic where a 3d printed part is made up of layers stuck together. With the molded part there will be no post processing required to have the texture and smoothness of the factory part.
I'm only planing on doing the reversed plate (as a kit). The radio open will be for a standard double din with enough material to file off if you have a larger than standard double din.

Cost would be roughly $50.
I would definitely buy two and keep one as a spare.
Any thoughts on a molded cup holder to replace the ash tray?
Is anyone interested in a injection molded double din radio bezel?
If there is enough interest, i will get some molds made and produce the bezels.
Let me know.
Thanks,

I'm in. It's definitely worth $50 to me to have a bezel that's molded in the correct color and grain so it matches the rest of the interior. If you get enough interest, let me know.
For anyone who knows, are there any problems or mods needed to reverse the double din and heater controls? Is the heater control wiring long enough to handle the swap?

I would love one. My next project is reassembling my interior and this is the last piece of the puzzle that I need. When do you think they would be available?

With everything going on in the world, I don't know exactly when they will be available. But i can tell you where the project stands.
-The molding equipment I'm building is being assembled and wired. Soon after a few small test parts will be done to check texture patterns.
-The mold blanks will be heading to the cnc department end of week early next. After that they will need to go be polished and brought to the texture guy.
