As of right now I don't. But I may in the future. My biggest issue is I don't have a way of checking fitment. Would need to find someone local to me to do a test fit.
Has anyone actually installed a reverse double din yet? I had the audio shop install it yesterday. They suggested getting a shallow head unit (no CD player) so as to not cause issues with the HVAC controls, so I went with it. They ran into trouble and said there would be more work needed (cutting) so they just installed the bracket upside down (head unit on bottom) and now the heater controls have a space between the controls and the bezel (due to the angle).
So it looks like I either have to have them cut whatever is needed back there to relocate the heater controls, or get a standard (non reversed) double din bezel.
Edit - In case anyone is on the fence about this bezel, the quality is AMAZING.

Reason: Added info about quality of bezel

can you post a picture I’ve been wanting to see how it looks installed with a double din.
I just received the reverse double DIN faceplate with Vintage Air controls. This is just a mock up, but I’ve checked the fit and all I need to do is fabricate the brackets.

Yes, I mocked it up using a 3d printed version awhile back. I found that my Pioneer head unit was far too long to be installed as it interfered with all the A/C control rods and hoses. To use a reverse mount you will have to go with a very short depth radio.
Steven, thank you. I specifically went with a shallow depth head unit per the recommendation of the audio shop, and the installer still said there would need to be work done "cutting" behind the controls. I've never removed the centre (or center for the Americans) console so don't know what it looks like back there for room. Perhaps they just didn't want to do it.
Well the ashtray cup holder is up and ready to go. Unfortunately i had to scrap the standard plate not once but twice this past week try to get it molded. But the the 3rd one it just about ready to go to mold. My apologizes for yet another date push back on this plate.
Don't use the inverted bezel, you'd need to cut ductwork or the dash bracket. I created brackets to mount HVAC controller and it turned out well. Three pieces of lumber connectors from Home Depot.
Can't have any of the metal in between the head unit and the HVAC controller.

What's the story with the inverted vs the regular? Sounds like it works for some but not others. Is the ability to use the inverted setup year specific? It it radio specific? I see pictures of the inverted installed. Were there any mods besides the front bezel required?
Can you elaborate on this?
I have not been behind there to see what everything mounts to.
Why did you need a bracket for the HVAC controls if you didn't move them?

Inverted bezel you need to cut the bracket for the dash which will create rattles or / and some ductwork for the AC / heating. Keeping the original orientation the bracket for the HVAC controls that mounts to the faceplate is approximately 1/4 inch too low so all the center metal needs to go away So I just created new brackets instead of trying to cut that piece.
2am this morning... first part off.
Just need to do some document work and it will be listed. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on an order of material so I will only be able to make two or three with what I have left until the order comes in.
I noticed your site has been updated with the new top a/c bezel but shows out of stock. I left my e-mail on the notify when available function. Can pre-orders be placed?

Received availability notification last night. Placed order just now for two(2.)
What resin are you using for these? I plan on using prep and satin black interior paint like GM factory did on the interior plastics. Verifying compatibility.

Its a polyurethane based resin. claims to be paintable and machinable. If i have any scrap parts laying around I'll send it with your order to test on.

Dont worry, I'll have more listed today!!
Also on another note. We have a hurricane/ tropical storm coming through my area today and tomorrow. I'm planing on shipping Monday after it passes to hopefully avoid any issue with the postal service.

A scrap piece to test on would be awesome helpful. Thanks for offering!
I pray you are missed by the hurricane. Houston, Texas Gulf Coast is a favorite target for Atlantic hurricanes. Since arriving in the US in mid-60s I have spent almost a half dozen occasions of sheltering in a boarded up window house as some of the record breakers at the time passed overhead. Please try to stay safe...
Received yesterday. Good quality! Thanks! And thanks for the defective piece for testing painting.
My disassembled console now has more urgency but having these bezels in my hands gives me some incentive to finish relocating the control box for my Dakota Digital dash display that will be in the way of a double din unit.

Warning! Don't hold your breath. The DG box relocation project started back in the nice weather of mid-march and the car has not moved from the garage since December of last year. Projects move REALLY slow at my house.
I will follow up though as putting in a double din radio enables a parallel project of a back-up camera. So motivations are multiple.
I received my standard position double din plate on Saturday. I can say I am impressed. The texture surface looks fantastic as does the smooth surface. Everything appears nice and square. The packaging was excellent and beyond what I expected. I won't install this until winter but I'm pretty stoked. All I can say is wow and thank you!
Heads up to those that didn't get in on the last batch, I just checked to see if he has them listed in stock again, just picked up the 2nd one I wanted. First one arrived quick and looks great, just want to have a 2nd one in case I somehow damage the first one.
I finally got the time to install the standard double din kit I ordered, and I am more than impressed. Great work 7thdarkangel, this is a legit perfect product.
I put up photos and a video showing his product compared to a 3d printed version of his file from way back before people started trying to profit off his design. I printed this 3d copy before all that happened and I used a 3rd party printer that made no profit. I have purchased the reverse and standard versions of his product and they are both great quality. I personally prefer the standard version as I have a large head unit that needs a lot of room.
Hi, do you have any idea when the standard Firebird double din bezel will be available. Thanks for any info., Ron.
82-84 should be available end of next week as a machined to order part in both STD and reversed orientation. Just waiting on a OE plate to come in for measurements. Anyone want to volunteer to test fit for me?
85 and later is slowly getting worked on in between other projects. I have been doing some testing on adding the grid patter post mold to try to eliminate the possibility of have 4 molds (STD, reversed, W/without grids) I'll be giving it more attention once I'm finished with the Camaro shift plates and boot retainers I'm currently working on. More thought and planing has gone into them than i had originally thought.
It's probably going to be a couple of years before my '88 Trans-Am will be finished. But when you have the standard configuration with grids available, I'd be interested in picking one up from you. Thanks, Ron.

i have a 1984 TA. do you need an original bezel to take measurements from? i could lend you one if you will send it back. i'm looking to install a double din in my car. it's the Pioneer AVH-2550NEX. the manual says the chassis dimensions are 7"W x 3.875"H x 6.5"D. i haven't determined if i want the standard configuration or reversed yet though. haven't got to the dash part of my build yet. PM me if you'd like to borrow my original bezel.
For the 85+ firebird, is there a preferred hvac control? I have noticed there is a different opening for the analog and digital controls. I'm not to familiar with the firebirds so any insight would be appreciated.
You mentioned being at SEMA this year. Are you going to have a booth? I’ll drop by. I’ve put in my request for the Camaro manual shift plate. Looking forward to seeing it.

I wish I was big enough to do a booth at sema, right now this is just a hobby done out of my garage. I'll just be attending and checking things out.
