Battery Flux

I'll start off with what I have for a system...Alpine 855 head unit running Kenwood 4x6's, MTX 4240 amp running the Kenwood 6x9's and two Sony 12" X-plods. When the bass hits hard I get some major strobing of my headlights and a bouncing needle on my battery guage. How do I solve this?

Put at least a 1 farad capacitor across the amp. The cap will "store" the extra current your amp needs to push bass, so there is less extra draw on your battery and alternator. This should help. And I would do it soon cause my system fried 2 alternators in my celebrity.

You should consider a new alternator as well. A 240 shouldn't cause your lights to dim too badly if you've got a strong 100 amp alternator.

I think a cap will run you between 50 and 100, depending on the size and where you buy it.
