Custom kicks aren't going to be cheap. One guy was supposed to make a mold of his and sell them at a good price, but I haven't seen him on here in quite a while. I may start making molds of mine, but I'm not sure yet. I won't decide until summer when I have time to try.

Ever see those Bose kickpanel enclosures? For 3" speakers they dont sound half bad. I'm in the process of putting a '95 Bose radio in the car and so far it sounds amazing.

The bose speakers are powered by a bose amp that has a very specific equalization curve, phasing configuration and timing delay built in. This can help a ****ty sounding speaker sound better, and it can help counter poor speaker placement. If you remove one part or the other (i.e. the speaker or the amp) it sounds like hell. Installing a bose system into a car that it wasn't intended for can still sound better than the stock system, but it won't sound quite like it should. Also, because of the size of the kick panels, it's nearly impossible to use the bose kicks with aftermarket speakers and get any sort of good results.

I'm still here guys !! The mold thing didn't work out as well as I had planned. The finished product was not up to my standard. But I have devised a jig setup that allows me to make custom kickpanels with just a couple hours time invested per set. The only bad thing is that I need a set of stock ones to base each set on. So I will be making these on the core exchange basis, or I can just charge extra to cover the cost of new kicks from nextgen.com (like $13 each).
The kick panels will replace the stock pieces, be covered in your choice of color of automotive grade tweed, will hold up to a 6 1/2" midrange and 1 1/2" tweeter and will only cost ..... $165 a set + core exchange. I should be ready in a week or so to start taking orders. Email me and I'll keep you posted.

It takes me about 2 to 3 hours per set to make, not including curing time for the fiberglass. If I do a couple sets at the same time, it goes much faster. I'm hoping that by keeping the price low, that I'll have enough demand to make it worth my time by being able to set aside a few hours a week and knock out a few sets. I've spent probably 6 weeks playing with different ideas comming up with a good looking design that I reproduce with minimal effort and have each set be of the same high quality, and I believe I found it. Hopefully I will have pics by end of the week.

I believe we are all looking forward to the pics. I have damned near all the pieces I need to tear apart my interior for the third time to do my third stereo install in my car, complete with a pile of sound deadening material; and I'm curious about replacing the dash speakers in my automatic with kick panel speakers, preferably seperates. So I, for one, will keep checking in on ya... LOL
