Couple questions, need answers!

ok I think im going to go ahead and get the Audiobahn subs that thezeb has on special, they are at great prices plus they are authorized so they come with full warranty.. but before i do they have 2 subs im thinking about. Now for the time being i have a rockford 250a2 (stable 2 ohm stereo 4 ohm bridged) and eventually ill be swtiching to either a 500a2 or 800a2.. the AW1200 sub which is 700 RMS comes in DVC 4 ohm, and 2 ohm or 8 ohm.. for my amp im told ill need the 2 ohm speakers to have the amp running at full pwr.. they also have the alum12's on special which are 1000 RMS DVC 6 ohm only, which im told would give me a 3 ohm load.. now my qusetion is if i get the alums would the dual voice coils be better at a 3ohm load not using full power on the amp, or would it be better to get the single voice coil 2 ohms and wire it for full power? thanks

Ok if you hook up both of the 6 ohm sub's voice coils in a parrallel conection and then bridge the amp you'll have a 3 ohm load. I fo you hook up two subs like that you'll get a 1.5 ohm load and you'll be making tons of pwer

Basically you run the positive wire from the amp to the positive spk terminal on one speaker. Then you run a wire from that terminal to that same spk's other positive terminal. Then you run a wire from that terminal to the otherspk's positive terminal and then run a wire from that terminal to that spk's other terminal. Repeate for the negative terminal and you're done.

other than that its bone stock and ran a 16.4 @ 82 mph with earth shattering wheel hop and a 2.88 60 ft time. (this was with the rebuild and cam only)

er ok as usual i guess i got it wrong.. 1.5 ohm load is no good for my amp.. I was under the asumption that the load the amp would receive was 3 ohms..bare with me here, im pretty bad with wiring/ohms etc... out of the 2 subs with the specs i listed which would be the best to go with for my amp and how should i wire it?

It will receive a 3 ohm load if you hook up one 6 ohm sub and bridge the amp. Yoiur amp will run fine with a 1.5 ohm load. It may get hot and turn off if you have it cranked full blast for a long period of time but thats just the saftey switch built into the amp's protection circuit. If anything else goes haywire the fuse will blow. Iv'e seen them run down to 1 ohm. I have personally run all kinds of amps at 1 ohm that weren't rated to go that low and you're only going to 1.5

BTW we were all new at one point and I've been playing with car audio since 95.
