12" Tube... needs Speaker

I got a 12" tube that had a "Thump" speaker in it.. i blew it up within 2 weeks of having it, but it sounded damn good.

I need to know what kind of speaker might sound best in the tube. my amp is pushin bout 200 watts.. not much but i jus want a lil oomph to the bass so to speak.

I know some speakers need to be put in boxs and sealed to sound best. But will they be bad in the tube or is that just want they say to sell boxes?

i woodnt mind puttin in a cheap speaker for a lil while till i get some bills paid.. i jus wont destroy it like i did

Wat u guys think?

Pyramid makes a very cheap $25 12" woofer that performs well in a sealed enclosure from 1.5 to 2.5 cubes.

There are two ways (at least) to work against shock.
First way is the dyna-mat principle. Make the object heavier and it will not vibrate so easily.

Second way is to use shock absorbtion material around the unit... similar to egg-carton material.

You could try both, but it may come down to you NOT mounting it to metal connected with the dash. The dash is secured by metal to the firewall & kickpanel area. A small bump at the firewall is turned into a bigger bump up where your deck & heater controls mount.
