How should I wire this setup?
How should I wire this setup?
I have two 4 ohm MTX 8000 10s and a rockford 500.2. Should i wire one sub to each channel or shuld i bridge the amp. Also if i do bridge the amp how do i wire the subs. Im new to the stereo stuff so can someone explain how to wire in a series or parrallel and explain the pros and cons these have.
Thanks

First of all, you want everything to be equal. IE: you don't want your bass overpowering your mids, and highs. First hook it up, one speaker per channel. Then worry about bridging it later. Your amp is pretty big, and those speakers rock, so even if you kept that set up, you'll be fine. I had an Alpine MRV 1000, and some MTX Thunder 3000 10"s and I tried all different ways, and I found that when I had them set up this way, it sounded the best. Ofcourse, your speakers can handle alot more than mine.
Parallel is when both of the speaker positive terminals are hooked up together with the positive terminal on the amp, and the same for the negative. This way lowers resistance,(Ohms). Two 8 Ohms, make 4 Ohms, and two 4 Ohms make 2 Ohms.
Series is when you take the positive from the amp, hook it up to the positive of speaker "A", then from speaker "A", hook the negative to speaker "B" positive terminal. Then hook speaker "B" negative terminal to the negative on the amp. This raised resistance. Two 4 Ohm speakers make an 8 Ohm load.
