JL Audio-type Stealthbox?

Has anyone seen or tried to make a JL Audio-style stealthbox for a third-gen's rear storage compartment or spare tire well?

I'd really like to use these locations for subs so I can retain some cargo space and switch to the lockable T-Top storage from the strapped-in bag.

Not at this time there's not. Your best bet is to do a custom install there. There is a tech article on the hompage under the car audio heading in the tech section. It shows how to make a fiberglass box in the well but you can use the same principle to make one the the storage or spare tire well. BTW JL Audio did offer a box with (3) 12W6 subs in it rated to handle 300-900 watts rms for our cars in 97. You may want to call them since it is not listed on their site.

305 bored .030 over
Stock TBI
Aluminum radiator
No smog pump
gutted factor cleaner
cam ground to crane specs
timing advanced 9 degrees
no thermostat
other than that its bone stock and ran a 16.4 @ 82 mph with earth shattering wheel hop and a 2.88 60 ft time. (this was with the rebuild and cam only)

racer j,

Thanks. I'm very familiar with the older 10W6 box and have tried my darndest to get ahold of one. I don't suppose you know where I could find one? I've talked to JL and all they are making now is that fourth-gen enclosure with 3 10W3's.

The two stealthboxes was kind of a perfect solution for storage space, but I'm now worried about cancelation issues having them fire across from each other.

Thanks,
Matt

No I don't know where you can get one. I wish I did but let me know if you find one. As far as cancellation goes you shouldn't have a problem there. I am considering putting a 10 where the spare goes and a 10 on the other side. I've seen competition cars and trucks that have had way more subs than two though that crossfire and they don't have any problems winning.
