where do i mount my tweeters?

where do i mount my tweeters?

hey boys i just got some sony 5 1/4 component speakers. i'm puttin the 5 1/4 in the dash but where do you guys think i should mount the tweeters? i really don't want to hack my dash too bad to mount them, i'm goin for factory look here.

Right next to the mids. If you offset the mids a tad you should be able to mount the tweets right under the stock grills and be all set. You could also mount them to the base of the A pillar facing toward the windshield. If you perforate the pillar you can mount them behind it for a very clean look. I'd stick with the stock location in the dash tho.

ok thanks for the info, here is what i was planning on doin. tell me if this sounds smart. i'm goin to the junkyard to practice taking the dashpad off and removing the original speakers and i'm going to buy the metal bracket the stock speakers mount on from the junk car. i'm goin to cut the junkyard speaker braket up to fit my 5 1/4 and tweeters and then install the braket and new speakers in place of my stock bracket and speakers. that way i'll learn how to effeciently remove the dash pad and speaker bracket and won't mess up anything on my car. this is what i have always done in the past. i have found that junkyard cars are great to learn on, that way when i go to reinstall my new part i don't brake my stuff.
