best subs for the price?
Check out The Zeb and SoundDomain for alot of good subs at a good prices. Ebay has alot of cheap prices also but most of those are not authorized retailers.

i paid $129 shipped for my alpine type-r 12 dvc and highly recommend the sub and the shop (www.ikesound.com). great sq with enough spl to shake the car if ya need to. search around online and you can find quite a few reliable shops with great prices.

Want really cheap, and a damn good entry level sub, then check these out......
Two 12". 8ohm MTX Thunder 4000's. Two of them for ~$90.
Run them in parallel to any bridged amp, and everyone's happy.
Or here's the 4 ohms for ~$50/ea. if you only want one.
I have just 1 Thunder 3000 12" 8ohm running off a RF punch 100. mounted in the rear storage well. The low bass is great. The mid bass is good. And it hits tight. I love it. My neighbors don't!!
BTW, I hit 135.5db using a Audio Control RTA/SPL meter.
