The two PPI amps I own never have let me down once in 3 years of use. Looking to buy another soon to add to the system I've used a couple of other brands and they were crap in comparison.

I love the Aura amps that I have and they push out 330x2 and Fosgate amps as well. Can't go wrong w/ those & don't forget about the Kicker & Memphis Audio lines either.

For those subs I would reccomend the MTX250D. It is a Digital class "D" amp which improves temperature and lets the amp be much smaller in size. DONT LET ITS SIZE FOOL YOU!!!

I went with a Phoenix Gold XS2300 which puts out 300x1 at 4 ohms...and i believe my subs are running 2 ohms. anyway it freakin slams! I still havent tuned it right cause its just too cold out (lol i stood out there in the cold to put it in tho) but i am definately happy with the choice, and the guys i bought it from were really helpful. best of all i think it blows my friend away (he's the kind of person who's gotta be on top)...thanks for the suggestions guys.

Alpine V12, Precision Power, or Eclipse.

My Eclipse 33230 is a 200x2 at 2 ohm, and slams VERY nice. I plan to bridge it to 1 channel for either a Boston Pro 12 or Eclipse Aluminum 12. For 2 channels, 200x2 at .008% THD, with Eclipse quality and 3 year warranty, just slams for $379.

If you want a clean power go with ALPINE V12, If you want pure power which I highly suggest go with MTX. I have used Kenwood, PPI, Fosgate, & Alpine, nothing made my woofers hit like MTX.

Alpine v12 (t757 f407).
I'm glad to see other people with the alpines. I've been working with them for a few years now and I'm really impressed with there durability, style, and overal performance. My friends like xtant but I couldn't justify spending all that money and then having to spend even more for "upgrades." Rockford is alright, just hate the style, old style was much nicer. I have a theory that the less time spent on the design = more $ was spent on design of the guts. Just my general rule of thumb. Also name brands are a safe bet and you can get them for dirt cheap on e-bay.

Punch 200 running 2 12" Kicker comp's.

I've been running these same subs and amp for about 6 years now and have had nota single problem. My RS is the 3rd vehicle this set has been in.Going on the 3rd box for the subs.
When/If the amp dies I would like to buy a kicker amp.I would go with a new Folsgate but I'm afraid of it not being as reliable as my ol'punch.
BTW...I probably just jinxed myself but oh well!

I have an MTX Thunder 2300X driving a pair of JL 12W3 D4's. Speaker pair impedance is 4 ohms. (2 4 ohm VC's in series = 8 ohms, speakers in parallel = 4 ohms) My amp puts out around 700W x 1 bridged mono at 4 ohms. 350 watts a sub, and it pounds. Much more impressive than the SPL is the clarity. The bass is never muddy sounding like you get with a cheap amp, and theres no popping or snapping during peak hits.

I also have an MTX Thunder 4300X for full range driving a pair of Eclipse 3 way 6x9's and a pair of Infinity 462.1i 4x6 plates. This amp is rated 37.5 x 4 but the birthsheet says 66 x 4, and I can tell you that it definetly puts out 66 x 4. MTX watts are full bandwith, they don't just see how much they can get out of the amp by dumping tons of gain into it and getting a powerful, but distorted signal. I'd definetly look into the new 500 and 1000D's. Heres a pic of my '98 Thunders.

Well, on a cheaper note. I bought a pioneer which wan about 50RMS x2, and it really REALLY sucked. if i turned the volume up to 50%, it would cut out. same with the store demo model (which i was told was broken)

I gave that amp away, and bought a "kenwood 600 watt amp" which runs around 150 rms X1 in bridged mono. MUCH better amp. it still would cut out, but only after a hour of blasting at top volume. cost me around 200 bucks. i even had the amp shorting out against the chassis (bad wires, man im stupid) and it still ran strong, after i fixed that.

a fairly solid amp, which isn't too expensive.

but really, if i had the money, i would totally go with rockford fosgate. they have a reputation for being awesome, even if it isn't as "vogue" as it was before because now best buy sells them.

I've had pretty good luck with my Pioneer amp. I've been using a 30x4 pioneer for about a year now, and although it's obviously not very powerful, I'm quite happy with it's performance. It plays a good bit louder than the 50x4 Jensen it replaced, and the sound quality is much smoother. I'm not about to go swapping out my Kicker amps for Pioneer, but for a cheap 4 channel amp, I can't complain. I'd have to assume that your Pioneer amp has problems. Unless you're running a low impedance load, the amp shouldn't ever shut down. Mine distorts long before it shuts down

I'll throw in 2 cents here. I'm nowhere near the stereo freak I used to be, but I hated my Alpine amp, nor did I like my buddies V12's that I installed last year. Compared to my MTX's they don't put anywhere near the same power as they are rated. Maybe it's just the MTX are way underrated, I don't now.

I do also really like my Sony Xplode amp that's in my Grand Prix.

I'm still using my Lanzar amps, no that new **** by Pyramid, but the Opti-drives, a 200 on my two 12s bridge and a 50 on the highs. I had this 200 on four 15s at one time. Had these two amps since 94. Alpine v12 is great and I had a Zeus (the white one) from years ago it was pretty good too. I don't know how good they are now.

Go with a JBL BP600.1 or if on a budget BP300.1. These are mono sub amps stable in 1 ohm mono loads. They provide gobs and gobs of clen power. MTX 500D is comparable. It seems to put out a little more than the BP600.1 but is muddier. Any of these would drive your subs hard enough to get your ears ringing.

I like Phoenix Gold ZX series. They are incredibly clean and powerful amps with no compromises. They are the amps to use if cost in not much of an object.

I also like the Eclipse line of amplifiers. They are slightly more affordable but are exeptionally clean and powerfull.

If you want to go cheaper without much compromise, Alpine V-12 amps are a real bang for the buck.

It depends on how many subs you plan on running.

For 3 10" DVC's I run a PG ZX350 it is fan cooled.

For 4 10" DVC's I run a Rockford 500A2 I found that the rockford heats up when running 3 subs.

I have had a fosgate punch 200 and 2 power 10's for about 6 years. I run this amp hard and have never had a problem. fosgate is cheaper now then it used to be since they are selling to cicuit city and best buy. You might want to look at some prices. all my friends have fosgate for their subs and everyone is very happy with the sound

audiobahn, in my daily driver(91 buick century) i have two audiobahn 4 inch speakers in the dash, two audiobahn 5 1/4's in the rear deck
all this is powered with one A4600E AUDIOBAHN amplifier. i have 0 gauge power wire with a fuse 18 inches off the battery ran to a distribution block with 4- 8 gauge outputs(makes it easy to add on later) that link is fused and ran to the amp with 1 foot of 8 gauge
the ground consists of 8 gauge from amp to anopther distribution block with a 0 gauge ground on the chasis underneath.

the box is made of 3/4 mdf with a double stacked face so that the subs are recessed. t

the great thing is that the subs retail for 49.95 (they are natural sound tens, two of em)
and they outhit all of my friends twelves and tens ( all the popular brands too)

its like i always say

runit it right and play it loud

I have to tell yall Orion's HCAA amps and Autotek's Street Machine amps have never let me and my freinds down. I don't know about Autotek's newer versions but I know I used to run a 95 model of their 44watt X 2 competition amp at 1 ohm powering two JL Audio 12W4DVCs. Yea it voided the warranty but it never even blew a fuse in it.
