Radio that dims with factory dimmer switch?

I am looking for a good radio that preferable has a similar color backlight to the firebird orange, and dims with the factory dimmer.

Don't need anything fancy, aux in, and good sound.

Anyone know of a good model?

Most aftermarket head units don't have a dimming feature at all, and the lighting is usually super bright and funny colors rather than anything that looks remotely close to stock. They seem to intentionally stand out as aftermarket.

I can't think of one off the top of my head but you could check out crutchfield.com

Their website has an incredibly detailed data section and product overview that should tell you if a radio has the feature.

Re: Radio that dims with factory dimmer switch?

Some of the Sony units do have a dimmer function that comes on with the headlights, but it looks like it only dims to a set level in the radio. Not variable from the dimmer switch.

That's better then nothing, I do a lot of driving at night and don't want some screaming bright radio in the car.

I am going to keep looking, but I might try the Sony MEX-N5300BT, it doesn't look to obnoxious.

I prefer pioneer units myself. Most of the mid-range models have switchable illumination and an adjustable Auto dim function.
