excelon is one of the best, alpine has a new high end mp3 deck, and the jvc is very nice. all have been highly rated, gotten great reviews, and are very good decks. price-wise, the alpine is the most expensive, followed by the excelon, then the jvc. look online, you can usually knock off up to 1/4 off the price. i'm looking into getting the jvc deck myself. while they have had a track record for somewhat shoddy equipment, they've started to turn themselves around and make some pretty good decks.

i had a jvc deck and hated it.. i actualy still have it. was in the '96 maro. then when that was repoed (lost my job and u know the story...) it went in my moms 95 corola, then it was in a 87 skylark.. awesome power and bass response for a hu, but the cd player never worked right. the cd player finally stoped working bout a yr after i origionally bought it. i think ill go with the excelon then..
Go to www.highwaymp3.com
It is an excellent website that reviews all of the mp3 players out right now. I am personally waiting for the pioneer deh-p7400mp. I hope it will be out soon. I ordered it from www.broadwaycomputer.com for $223. I thought that was cheap enough.
