Replacement for a UT4 Radio in an '87 GTA?
Just picked up a pristine '87 GTA with 59k original miles and literally, the only thing not working right is the UT4 radio. The cassette deck is muffled out of one channel and many of the lights are burned out. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could get to replace it? I don't want to go aftermarket, a I'd like to try to keep the car as original as possible, but would consider other Delco radio models.
Any suggestions on what to go with and where to look? There isn't a ton on eBay right now, so I'm open to other sources.

I'd send it to M&R Electronics in Saginaw. They'll fix it fast and for a very reasonable price. I used them and so did a number of other people here. Easy to work with and they know what they're doing.
That's not an uncommon problem with old head units. Connections likely need re-soldered, perhaps some capacitors need replaced. They did mine for $150. (I also had them add an AUX jack for $75.)
I think you're better off having a company like this refurbish your old radio. It'll work like new. You can find plenty of other cheap GM radios on eBay, but they're old and might develop the same problem over time.

I second M&R, he was a part of the original net work of folks who repaired these Delco radios when new. Save yourself the hassle and send it to him. It would have saved me a lot of time and money had I sent it to him initially.
