Alpine Problems

I've had my alpine head unit installed for about three years now and got the six disc changer installed about six months ago,my question is now all the sudden when you shut the car off the head unit will not come back on when you restart it.It takes about 15 minutes and then after playing with the butttons it comes back on,but all the presets and time are reset like it lost power any one have any clues.

hmm my first thought would be something in the wiring, since you say all the presets are lost. does it do this only after you shut the ignition off and the back on? or does it shut down sporatically with the ignition on??

It only does it after you turn the ignition off. Then after a while it comes back on after you restart the car.
