sub box

i just noticed that my subwoofer box is too small for my pioneers. will that hurt them? when i calculated it, it was around 1.02 cu. ft. when pioneer wants them to be 1.5 cu. ft.
is this just affecting the sound quality?
thanx

wont hurt them, they are pioneer, sound quality isnt great to begin with, but yes, it will effect it. but you can and will now need more power to get them to their full potential.

89V6BIRD I think I have the same subs. They are also pioneers that need 1.5 ft^3 and my box is going to be about 2.4ft^3 total. I am about .3 ft^3 off of each. I bought some of that polyfill to help makew the box sound bigger. If I would have done more research I woulod not have gotten these subs because they need such a big space. Other subs only need like .5ft^3 which is great. I wish I would have read the fine print, but I have them now so i will make do.

they make subs that need .5 cu. ft? who makes those? who makes subs that require only 1.0 cu. ft?

There are hundreds of subs that require 1.0 cubic foot or less, and a ton that only need .5 too. Solobaracs come to mind, but most companies have similar small-box subs.
