PLEASE HELP ME UNLOCK MY STEREO !!!

ok , my dad wants to sell his 98 eclipse so today I put his old Infitiny stereo in it.

everything went in smooth until I turned it on.

All it does, is show "code" on the display, so I looked at the back of it and it says that it has some sort of anti-theft feature.

It is asking for a 4 digit code. Where do I get this code ?

he's a second owner , and didn't get anything that would have the code on it. He bought it from a mitsubishi dealership so If all fails we'll take it there and maybe they have it on record or something... or maybe they can deal with infinity and get the code from them.

Is there a way that I could maybe write to infinity and get the code from them ? (if I provide some proof of ownership or something ???)

Please help me with this problem, THANK YOU !

There should be an eclipse web site out there somewhere that would have some of the 4- digit codes. Also sometimes the code is printed somewhere in the vehicle, like the hatch/trunk area. So I would look around the car for any codes, or the owners maual. Hope this helps!

I would contact a dealership and ask them to help with your problem (It may not cost anything ... ask first). I doubt that Infinity will help without solid proof that the radio is not stolen.

one of my friends had that problem in his car and he contacted the dealer and they looked up his car and gave him the code.

I have a Kenwood CD player that lets you pick your own 4 digit code. You could be **** out of luck if that is the case.

There should be a sticker in the back of the stereo manual that has the 4 digit stereo code. Some, dumbassidly enough, are even on the stereo themselves.
