Bose Gold II questions
Bose Gold II questions
I’ve been reading all about the Bose gold II posts and haven’t really been able to correct my issue.
when I bought my 90’ iroc, came with the factory Bose gold II head unit (which I want to keep for the stock look). The problem is that the factory speakers and amps are gone. I have the rear hatch panel for 6.5, and front kick panels for I believe 4’s. The factory plugs are gone and the wires were just shoved in the spare tire compartment. If you plug the wires into the speakers directly you get a low audio output because the missing amps.
I am not looking to go stock amps and speakers on this. And right now I’m just trying to find a set up that works in the rear hatch. I have figured out what wires are for power and are for speakers. I have wired in a “speaker wire to RCA connector” that goes to a mini amp off Amazon for my audio input. Then on the output side I have it wired to the speakers l. I’m using the factory orange and black wire for power to the mini amp which only puts out 50 watts so I know I’m not gonna blow a fuse. But nothing, no sound out of the speaker. I’ve tried 3 different brands with this set up and nothing. So I know I am definitely missing something here since I can get audio if I touch the factory wires right to the speakers.
please let me know what I can do to keep my stock head unit, and power the factory speaker locations with after market speakers. once I figure out what I’m doing wrong I will probably also figure out how to wiring in speakers at the dash and the sail panels as there is no speakers there now.
thank you for the help

Re: Bose Gold II questions
Maybe start with a signal converter,... them wire in whatever you want after the fact.
