Lousy radio reception
First off I have virtaully no knowlege of car radios. I just bought an eagle talon and the radio didn't work, When I pulled the dash out I found a JVC cd changer controller Model KS-rf40. It was hooked up but no changer to be found in the car. They cut thewires to the controller input and the changer input. Now back to my ? Once i pulled the power to the controller I got slight radio reception, Then I found" what looks like the antenna wire plugged into the controller, I un plugged it and plugged it in to the car stereo and it got slightly better again, But still real staticky, A $1.00 radio will pick up this station easily. The only things still hokked up is part of a wire for (memory back up)and a ground. I have tried ohming out the antenna wire and it shows nothing as if its completely broke, Or is it supposed to be this way. It is working to a certain extent because when you un plug it from the antenna or the radio, I only get fuzz.
Does anybody have an Idea what I have going on?
Thank You
John

this might be avoiding the whole issue w/ the existing antenna, but maybe try the $5 invisible antenna from radio shack and just forget about the old antenna. I'm putting mine in this weekend, and on the post about it i've heard nothin' but good so far.
