Does anybody have a unique install?
I'm tired of the 2 subs in the well. Does anybody have anything unique. Like a single sub install. If somebody could just post pictures of different thirdgen installs that would be great or give me a link. How about putting the stuff behind the panels?

This one is somewhat unique:
This is the system that I built for my friend's Trans Am.

here's my setup in my old bird. I've since then moved it into my TA, recarpeted black, put cloth over the sub cover, and moved the neon inside the amp.
otherwise, its still the same basic setup.

The amp pushing the sub is a Kicker Impulse 652xi, and the amp for the highs is a Punch 40. Overall the system sounds real good, but that Punch 40 doesn't have an internal crossover, so I had to use a cheap high-pass unit that brought all sorts of noise into the system, so I was forced to use a ground loop isolator because my buddy is too cheap to spend money on a good crossover.
Anyway, the system pounds considering the pathetic amount of power that 652 makes. The box design and placement of the driver makes it get pretty loud. I'd say 125-128dB range.
The box took me basically a weekend on and off to complete. It's basically an adaptation to my usual design. I'm not happy with the top flush mount panel, but I finished it at 11:00 on a sunday night with a wood chip in my eye, so by that point a good fit wasn't my primary concern. He's happy as a clam so I'm not going to bother making a new flush mount panel.

Mike those are some sexy amps. I plan on keeping my interior looking as stock as possible. I think I'm going to be the first guy to install a single 12" and 2 v12 amps into the side panels totally hidden. Has anybody installed a stealth system before or does everybody here go for show? I've had too many problems with my show setups (they get stolen). My last setup was awesome. Had a single sub in the middle and the amps were under a tint plexi window on an angle from the back of the back seat to the well. I then had blue neon shine on them and it looked awesome. It was also portable so I could take it out for the track. Well it ended up in my front seat in pieces so I said $%*# it, I'm just going for SQ and it's going to look all stock. The only problem is going to be the obvious custom kicks I'm building for my MB Quarts. I'm looking for a stock GM head unit so I can gut it for the face plate. I also plan on moving the battery to the back under the panels but I don't know how much room I'll have to work with. Please post more pics of unique installs.

I'm currently working on a rather unique f-body install.
3 amps in the very bottom portion of the well, 2 12" subs...one inverted where the compartment is on the drivers side and the second where the spare used to reside. Reworking the entire rear (from rear seatbelts back) out of fiberglass. The IDOne processor will be flushed into the dash right in front of the passenger's seat. 8's, 5's and horns for front stage with the 8's and 5's in the kicks.
Probably going to be close to a year before I finish it up in my spare time, but I'll post pics from time to time to let you see.
get creative, anything is possible with a little practice and a ton of fiberglass and bondo

I did something similar to what GrnPrx did.
I had a 12 installed where the trunk "lock box" used to be, and the amp installed in the spare tire compartment. I had enough space to leave the spare tire in place.

i bet i have something none of you have. not trying to sound ****y, but i don't think any of you have this.
if you look real closely, you will see something quite unique under the dash, below the Z28 emblem. ok. ok. i'll tell you. there image dynamics compression drivers (horns) with 8" midbass drivers in the doors. yeah, i know, the boxes for the 8's are ugly, but they do the job quite well. tons of mid bass up front. the horns give a kick *** front stage, unbelieveable SQ, and great seperation. the head unit is a pioneer premier P1R and i have one 10W4 in the back for real low bass. as for the amp, one PPI 6 channel with a whopping 50 watts a channel. i beleive in less is more. not sick power, but the ears tend to ring.

That's really cool. About 300-400lbs in the wall and a NOS. Anyone else get it?

The No2 must be for getting the same times he had before the wall was installed. That is overkill and I hate it when it comes to stereo. There is nothing exciting about that and I would hate it if my car came with a wall. Too much weight and my ears can't tell the difference, only a computer. My eyes can tell the difference between a 10 second car and a 16 second car. Anybody else have some unique thirdgen installs?
88 GTA Notchback, could you get pictures of the install? I'd like to see what that box looks like in the panel.

hey, i totally agree. There is no need what so ever for twenty 10" subs in a car, a camaro none the less.
But however, if i was sponsered and did drive that car as a daily driver, just for competitions... then hell.. id definately do that. Especially if i was getting payed for it.
