24-bit D/A Converter vs Dual 1-bit D/A Converter

I am comparing 2 Clarion Decks. One is the Clarion DXZ615 and the DXZ715. The DXZ715 is $100 more than the DXZ615.

The differences are that the 715 has 24-bit D/A concerters, the 615 has dual 1-bit D/A converters. Is there an audible difference between these two statistics?

The 615 gets better radio reception than the more expensive 715. The 715 has a dot matrix display.

If you were to choose between these two CD recievers which would you choose?

Listen to them and decide for yourself whether the 24 bit DAC is worth the extra money. To me it is because I can hear a difference, but most people can't. But, there are other factors that matter more. We have a new JVC deck with 24 bit Burr Brown DACs, and the deck still doesn't sound as good as the Alpine 7863 with a 1 bit DAC, because the rest of the signal path within the Alpine is higher quality.

the multi bit convertors generally have a better low end responce and a much better signal to noise ratio. i would choice the multi bit one. my alpine 7909 has two 18 bit das and a signal to noise of 110 and thd of .002 see how your deck measures up. also some decks cheat to get a high signal to noise ratio by having a built in noise gate. my alpine 5959 changer has a signal to noise of 115 it has 4 20 bit da convertors.
