Will large Jensen head unit fit 3rd gen?

Jensen offers 1.5 DIN head units for newer GM/Chryslers. They just appear to be a little wider. Will they fit in my '92 Camaro?

Should fit fine. Din and a half is a standard size throughout the years. The only thing you need to watch for is depth. You may end up removing the plastic suports at the rear of the radio pod to accomidate a deeper radio, but that is not at all unusual to have to do.

It should be a perfect fit. I've never put one in a thirdgen, but the oversize Jensen and Pioneer decks I've put in other GM cars have nearly always fit well. The only exception was a '96 Blazer...the Pioneer left a little gap underneath.

If you're interested, I have a Jensen KDC-9520, brand new in the box...the $300 one that plays tapes and CDs.

I would strongly reconsider the Jensen head unit. Jensen heads are pure ****. I've NEVER found somebody that was happy with one except people that never owned a brand name piece previously.

Jenson are damn good stereos!!! You just have to buy the 200$+ models. I have the 1.5 din 200 watt head unit in my blazer and it kicks A**. Dont listen to these people that bash what they know nothing about. try it if its sucks just take it back, but at least try it.

Jim85IROC hit it on the head.
You say you have to get a $200+ to get a decent one. Pay the $199 and get a Pioneer 1.5.....
Get out of the stereo section at Walmart, get something worth a chit.

Send me your address and I'll mail you a Jensen DIN 1.5 head unit FREE.
This thing is JUNK. And that is being polite. I never liked it and then the AM just quit one day out of the blue.

No, please don't cut the support at the back of the radio... the guy before me cut that thing out, and it took me forever to fab something to replace it! I've seen so many cars in junkyards with the thing missing, too. You'd think people would measure before buying a radio!
