Could this fry my CD player?
I just got my 3" exhaust put on today. The guy used oxy-acetelyne welding. He never disconnected the battery, and when I tried to use my cd player later on, it was totally dead. I heard that welding on a car without the battery disconnected will fry the electronics. Nothing else is dead. My lights, turn signals, etc still work. Just my cd player is dead. All the fuses are good and didn't see any loose wires. My cd player is still under warranty, but I just hope my amp is ok.

If the guy use Oxy, then no, that would not fry your radio.
Acedeline is a gas and he would not have hooked up any wire clapms to your car.
Now, If he used an Arc welder, then it could have caused your problem, but I doubt it.

Anybody have any other ideas about why it quit. What else should I check?

Have you pulled the CD player out and tested it directly to the battery?
You said all the fises are good; does this mean you checked the fuses in the fuse box AND any inline fuses up behind the radio itself?
I would pull the deck and test it on the battery. If it doesn't power on, then take it back.
