power handling of speakers

I'm just finishing up with installing my front speakers. I have Rockford fanatic x tweeter, 4's, and 6.5's. I'm down to getting either a 800.4 or 600.4 to power them. The speakers will handle 140 max which is under what both of these amps claim but I've heard rockford amps push a little more than they say they do. For this reason will the 800.4 be too much?

If you can afford the better amp, get it!

You can't have too much power. Most people blow their speakers from too little power, hardly ever do they blow from too much.

After they are all hooked up, just set the gain on the amp and the pre-out level on the radio (if yours has it) to the proper levels.

A bigger amp will give you lots of headroom which will allow the amp to run cool and effecient ='ing cleaner sound.

Thomas.
