Pics of Vinylized DJ-kicks

I've finally got around to taking pictures of the vinyl-wrapped kick panels I got from DJ Sexay. I ordered them unfinished and did a lot of finish smoothing, filling, and sanding with Bondoglass and Bondo. Then I was impatient and wrapped them with a cheap vinyl and cheap contact cement. You can tell there are a couple of places where the vinyl isn't sticking too well. It still looks alright though. I used black vinyl to compliment the black dash and accessories. I also had to cut out the back of each kick to clear the magnet on the OZ component set. It sounds awesome, but when I get more time I still need to enclose the back of them for a little better mid-bass response.

wow, I'm impressed.

For final sanding like that, I prefer to use Evercoat glazing putty. Goes on much smoother and thinner then bondo, and much easier to sand. I use 60 grit, then 400, and it's beautiful.

You can get it from www.uscomposites.com .

Still, looks great!

hate to break the news to ya, but you screwed up in my opinion. you should paint your round grill surround grey to match your old kick there and your carpet. maybe even paint the grill. damn, after you do that it will accent your component set and whoa, look out. that will look killer

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm starting work on a vinyl covered fiberglass sub box right now. I'll post pic's when that's done too.
