Not an expert on this, but I would think some good thick pile carpet over some good carpet padding would block out external noise pretty good. But that solves only half of your problem....the other half being vibration. Dynomat in the right places works very well if you can stomach the price.

Dynomat all the way. I had Dove Gray carpet in my car & switched over to black carpet, that was a great move. What I did was pull everything except for the radio pod. If you get the carpet from A1 Auto then you are getting top notch carpet that you don't have to play w/ that much. But what you have to do is cut out holes for the bolts to where all the seats bolt in. You also may need to trim the carpet cause sometimes they cut it too long as well. Here is what you do w/ the carpet, lay it out in the heat for about 3hrs to let it get all the kinks out of it & then Scotch Gaurd it. Get 2 cans cause you will need it. While you are letting the carpet lay out in the sun Dynomat the entire car. That is what I did & the bass response in the car is that much better. I was lucky enough to get two 13ft rolls of Dynomat online at http://www.ubid.com for $30 a roll. Not bad since Dynomat is expensive. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions e-mail me.

No one really takes this seroiusly but heculiner is the best deadener that I have used and it can prevent rust, you know the accidental spill of a big gulp that gets very little atention after the inital clean up.
dynomat is an excellent product although very expensive and the spray in dynomat is no better than undercoating. 110$ 1 gallon of herculiner "basicly cheap rhyno liner" will reduce all vibration an eliminate 99.9% of noise coming from you floor "road noise".

It's made for truck beds but it works excellent inside a car for deadener also works under the hood, basicly you get enough to coat everthing you want quiet.

theres stuff called b-quiet that is a $hit load cheaper than dynamat or v-block. only thing is you have to buy more material (still costs less) and layer it. here's the addy. http://www.b-quiet.com/

Do not buy b-quiet if you live anywhere where the temp goes above 80-90 degress F. I'm in the middle of writing up a review of this stuff and the problems that I've had since I bought a roll of it. My opinion is that I wasted $100 and now I'm in a world of hurt because I'm stuck with tar all over the sheet metal of the car that is going to be near impossible to clean off to go back and do it right.

Among the best would be dynamat or dynamat extreme or Stinger Accumat. The stinger product is actually a favorite from many people that I have talked to.

Good luck
