6X9's or 6 1/2 comp.?

Right now I have a pair of Pioneer ts-6969 in my car, I was just wondering if I should buy a pair of Infinity Kappa 60.2 can anyone help me with my decision. Also can 4" comps. fit in the 4X6 enclosures in the dash?
Thanks

The components can fit into the dash, although it may require some minor modifications depending on the size/depth of the magnet.

For the rears, I'd definately say that 6.5" components will give you better quality than 6x9s for the simple fact that higher quality equipment is available in the form of components vs. coax. 4" components in the dash and matching 6.5" components in the rear will make a great combination, although I'd shoot for bigger components up front in the kicks for even better sound.

There's no simple answer to that. With a 4", your only concerns will be magnet size and depth, but I've talked to some guys that put 5 1/4s in with minimal mods, but again, magnet size/depth can become an issue with those as well.

I would get a nice set of coaxial's for the back (or keep your current ones if they're ok). Spend your money on front speakers, that is where you want your sound. Get a nice set of seperates, as large as you can. Possibly look into kicks. They will offer room for a larger driver, and will provide better imaging. The larger the driver you can get in the front, the more midbass you will get up front, pulling the bass from your subs (if you have any) up front also. With the larger drivers, you dont have to rely solely on your sail panel speakers for midbass, allowing you to turn them down and restore the soundstage to the front. If your rear speakers overpower your front speakers, it will tend to pull the soundstage back. Also while kickpanels don't offer much airspace for true midbass, it would be much harder to get it from the dash, due to driver size and airspace. Sealing your kickpanels would also substantially aid in midbass reproduction. Just my thoughts.

Comp speakers are good but why go through the trouble to modify the car when you can purchase a pair of great 6x9s. Sorry to busrt your bubble but pioneer 6x9s are junk. You should look into either eclipse, boston acustic or memphis 6x9s as well as 4x6s. i have two memphis's 6x9s in the rear and a orion cobalt amp and they hit harder than my brothers 2 rockford's 12 and with the same amp.
