Ok I have one amp running my subs!! I have replaced the 6x9's to Sony 3-way 6x9's running off the deck! The deck is also sony!! I still have the stock 4x6's in the dash running off the deck as well!! My question is.... Would it be worth it to chance the 4x6's to something else??? Keep in mind the power for them would still come from the deck!!
I was thinking about kicks cause everyone gives them such good reveiws but i would need another amp for them right cause the deck wouldn't have enough power????

90% of your sound comes from your front speakers and that's the weakest link in your system. CHANGE THEM!!! If you keep using your deck, they'll keep being just as loud as the stock ones. If you amplify them later on, then you'll be able to play them louder, but there's no reason to suffer in the meantime.
If you choose kicks, they'll work just as well off the deck as the dash speakers will, but will also be able to handle more power later on from an amp.

i just think sony is highly overrated by people anymore. Everything is sony nowadays ... so i guess people think sony is a good brand huh? Never bought sony car audio, never will. I do have a sony 5.1 setup in my room and i love that to death. KLH floor speakers with 12 in" car subs in it, and a infinity sub ... OH YEAAA!!!! LOL
I have a pair of polk 4x6's i have disconnected since i got the kicks. If i were you, id take the kicks. Sound and look great, and its something you can show your high fidelity car buddies.

pain in the butt to change the 4x6's? NO WAY!
just take the dash pad off (10 screws i think? and it comes right off) and there they are. Probably the simplest thing you can do on a thirdgen besides putting gas in it!
Disclaimer, the above is based on the experience with my camaro, i don't know if firebirds are different....

no, same ... thing with the dash. 4 in the defrost vent (i dropped one in by accident of course) and like 7-9 under the lip. 7mm size socket. Then 3 holding each speaker down.

The Camaro dash can accomodate larger speakers than the firebird dash. I've got a pair of Boston plates in my GTA as well as in my Sport Coupe. In the Sport Coupe, they dropped right in. In the GTA, the dash needs to be trimmed and the heater box needs to be heated and pushed back on the driver side. It's still fairly easy, but it is somewhat time consuming. It took me a couple hours to do the speakers in the GTA.
