Need advise on a amp...

In a attempt to change to one 15' I found two JL w6 15's for cheap so I bought em. The next thing is that I can get good discounts on circuit city products and best buy products. Like a power series rockford amp 1000.1 but that is at 2 ohms and The closest I can get to that is 1.5 ohms. Then there is the MTX 1000d wich is a mono @ohm amp will these amps be capable of going down to 1.5 or do you think they will shut off/overheat due to the lower impeadence? Or can someone recommend a good /discounted amp that will be able to push these 400 watt rms subs? Sorry if this is confusing.

i may be wrong, but if you are going to go with Fosgate, im pretty sure a single bd.500a1 would be good eough, just run the amp parallel mono and you should be good, or are those JL's DVC? i dont know much about JL, but if they are SVC, the 500 should be good enough...

They are dual 6 ohm voice coils, so that amp would power it but i dont think it would be a good match. thanks

I had some good sound running 2 JL 12w6's off of a single Phoenix Gold M100. If you run the 15's each in parallel and run your amp in stereo you should get plenty of power with the Fosgate unit. Your amp will see 3 ohms per channel, figure if the Fosgate claims 250 rms @ 4ohms per channel, then with the setup I just described you can probably expect close to 300-350 watts to each 15w6.
