Well I went and spent 40 bucks I think on Ebay and got a perfectly good 9 band sony EQ. I think it is well worth the upgrade. You can "fine tune" the music so much better than just the bass, D-bass(on sony heads, of which I have) and treble controls... You can also get really good subwoofer control, the power output from the head unit, the Freq. 80/120 Htz and be able to kill the subs when a cop gets too close for comfort...

 

sorry forgot the mounting... I spent an extra 13 bucks and got a din and a half radio face plate mounting and it fits nicely under the sony head unit. The EQ is 1/2 din. So it fills the radio plate nicely.

Thats WAY too much money for a 1/2 DIN EQ. I only paid $200 for the DEQ-7600 and that model has been out almost 5 years.

If you buy a 1/2 DIN, don't pay more than $100 - $150 for it.

There are ways to install a full DIN EQ if you are creative.

thats only the suggested retail price, i can getit for 50$, with a full din sized one, would it be possible to mount it in the radio pod?

um do the math. 1 1/2 din readio opening. 1 din radio head unit and 1 din EQ does not work without some serious plastic work. ANd look really akward.

yea im getting it used. im trying to decide if i should get the ½din or the full din, the full din looks so much nicer (the pioneer one) and is 15band. but the ½din is cheaper and can fit under the reciever hmm

Two units will fit but u have to hack up your audio console. I bought a spare so I dont have to worry about it that much

Nice 4th gen consol in that last pic. Would it be possible to mount it in the AC controls area if you didn't have ac and you could mount that in a different spot. NOT something I would do but just an idea.

 

wuts that switch next to the reardefroster thing. also do you guys think i should get the ½din 9 band pioneer right now (60-70$) or wait a while, hack up my console and get the 200$ pioneer 15band full din

u could mount em somewhere else, but the wires leading from it arnt that long(i have my radio/radio po out right now)
