wiring a car

i have my first car, and its time to put in my first car stereo, today i took all the old stuff out and i have a few questions for wiring the new stuff. i ordered a few of the components and im gonna wait on some of the others (so i cant lok in manuals) i have an idea on how to do it, but could someoone tell me if this is right;
wire all 4x6 and 6x9's to the amp using 14 or 16 guage wire
wire the amp to the to equalizer using rca wire
wire the equalizer to the reciever using rca wire
wire the subs to the amp using 12 guage wire
wire the sub amp to the equalizer using rca
wire the eqwualizer to the reciever using rca

how do i wire a cdchanger and power for the amps

i wanna do all the wiring right away so i dont have to tear out the interior again

thanks

you going to put in an external cd player? for the amp... they sell kits which i think personally is the easiest way to wire an amp, usually include 6-8 gauge power wire, ground, fuse terminal and connectors.

ok. there should be a connector on the reciever for the 12 disc changer...if it is equipped with changer controls. the run rcas from amp to eq, to reciever. to power amp you run power wire from battery to amp. then ground the amp, and connect remote wire from amp to remote lead on head unit. amp is done, just hook up speakers. dont forget to put an inline fuse within 18" of battery. if you are running 2 amps a disrtibution block maybe your best bet. you also have to run a power wire to the changer, but this is all included with the changer along with detailed instructions...usually.
the 14 guage should be good for the 6x9 and 4x6 speakers. for the subs i personally use 12 guage. any other questions feel free to email me, im glad to help out....bdiddy79@msn.com

If you get a hard-wired CD-changer, then you only have to connect the data cable from the head unit. I guess FM type units require more wiring.

Almost any wire should do for your remote wire. It's just a very small current to let the amp know when to turn on. I think mine is 18 awg (I just got an amp wiring kit for everything, and it was in there). The speakers' polarity should be marked somehow.
