Inconspicuous bass - i.e., don't steal me - what's the 411?

Okay, I've already had to replace my back hatch glass once due to myself and a power tool, and have no desire to do it again, especially if shortly following the removal of several hundred dollars of car audio through the frame of the hatch...what's the best route to get inconspicuous bass? I really, really need cargo space, so I'm thinking maybe a box with a 10" kicker? Then, perhaps an amp under a front seat? Where would it be pretty much invisible and yet cool okay? For the record, music is my thing, and I'm much more concerned with hearing for instance the bass guitar line than a slamming bass drum like you rap brethren
Anyway, please post your ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it.

In my opinion, the biggest thing that's gonna keep your stuff from getting stolen is not letting anyone know you have anything. That means not playing it at high volumes arriving or departing any location (especially if the car is going to be there more than 5 minutes unattended), not showing off the system to anyone, including passing aquaintances and distant friends.. close friends maybe, but only if you know that they're not the gabby type. If they talk too much, close friend or no, I'm not showing him/her anything. It's just all about self-control.
Those things I believe make a bigger difference in whether or not your equipment will get stolen than any "stealth" install. Although a hidden install is definitely a factor.
Invest in a rollup hatch shade if you don't already have one. Then install whatever you and your ears like.

Park your car in high traffic areas. Well-lit at night. Protect your investment with a good alarm system.
Truth is, if someone wants your stuff real bad, there is nothing you can do (except maybe armed guards) to stop it. But Jza makes some very good points

First of all a amp under the front seats, GOOD LUCK with that its really really small there. Best chance is a custom small box with 1 amp built in to the box with the subwoofer

I myself have gotten an entire system stolen outta my last camaro. it sucks a lot. thankfully my insurance covered it with a nice $5000 check. thats how i got my beautiful new 89 RS. being smarter this time around and doing stelth. plan on doing a dummy plate for the head unit (Jim had the greatest idea), hiding the amps under the plastic trim in the back, and buying one of the locking hatch covers and making a custom fiberglass box for the subs underneath. best thing i can think of.
Make a bazooka tube or two, with 8s. Make a box and port it directly under the seat, and let the box rest in the back foot wells. Sure you lose leg room but who cares about the people in the back? Plus its easy to bolt down from there.

I got my amps under my seats for the same reason that your wanting to do it. I got an Alpine and a RF Punch. Both seats still slide, and neither amp has gotten hot enough to shut down. Keeps my butt warm to.
You just gotta make sure that the connections aren't facing towards the rear. That way nobody rips them out with their feet.

Please... I mounted my amp right next to my MSD box... Right where the AC used to be! Dual fan setup and fan shroud even blows cold air on them both! ripped out the A/C, Made a metal plate to cover up the holes, and mounted my MSD, Amp, And several Stickers to it (soon to mount Nitrous Selinoids to it too) and i was in bussiness.
why not take out the back seats and load up the space with all you can think of then puttin bullet-proof glass over it and lock it down... then put a sticker sayin..."want this? tough **** *** -face!"... well thats what im doin... theylll prolly kick the crap outta my car but insurance will cover for that and my stereo will be safe... so ill put my stereo into my new car and have a better car too!
